In the depths of a wood, in an old hollow tree, Mouse Four is one of a family of four baby wood-mice. Born with a rebellious nature he refuses to choose a name for himself  (as a wood-mouse must) and upsets his family with his stubbornness and odd ideas. 

Unwilling to fit into normal wood-mouse life, and rejected by his family, he leaves and goes to live in a barn where he builds a nest in an ancient tractor. But one day the tractor is moved out and a microlight is pushed in.

Fascinated by this beautiful yellow machine with its colourful wing, which is quite different from a tractor, he makes a new nest under the back seat. 

One morning he's woken with a start. His nest is shaking. The roar of a powerful engine is all around him and as he scrambles up and peeps out he sees they are in a field. A voice shouts 'Ready?' and seconds later they are tearing down the field at a terrific speed. 

In a story for those who dare to be different Mouse Four follows his heart up into the sky. Will his name find him? And will he ever be reunited with his family?
